Cosmos & Soul Book Club–Explore Meaning, Symbolism, and Connection– A new community!

Cosmos & Soul Book Club opening gathering poster with butterflies, black cat, and event details for Tall Tales Book Shop

🧡 An Invitation from Michelle

Hey there!

I’ve been wanting to create something like this for a really long time, and I’m ridiculously happy to finally invite you in…

Cosmos & Soul Book Club is for people who love books that open something up. Meaning, symbolism, the inner life, big questions, strange beauty, and the kind of conversation that can move from soul to laughter and back again without losing the plot.

Will we talk about astrology? Yes. But also so much more…

And doesn’t it feel like exactly the right moment to get together, pour a glass of wine, and talk about what actually matters? I think so too… and I can’t imagine a lovelier place to begin than Tall Tales Book Shop, a beloved local independent bookstore that has been part of the Toco Hills community for 47 years. Just supporting Rebekah and the shop is enough of a great reason to come out!

We’ll open the club with a little in-person party on Tuesday, June 16 at 7:00 PM. Wine, hors d’oeuvres, mingling… we’ll say hi, connect, and talk about what’s ahead for our new community. And y’all can absolutely tell me your ideas about topics and books you think will move you… and all of us.

The first book club meeting will be Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00 PM – also at Tall Tales – and if you’re not in Atlanta, you can join us via Zoom.

Our first official selection for discussion is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, a beloved classic rich with awakenings through the kind of journey that opens you up… and that’s something each of us could breathe into right now.

The gathering is free, and the book club is too… so come explore with me! 😊🧡

If this sounds like your kind of fun, I’d love to have you there–bring a friend if you’d like–and come be part of the beginning of something that will most certainly become really special.

With so much love, and a hope that we get to read together…

xx Michelle

A Feeling for the Whole – an excerpt from Gwen Gordon’s “What Does God Look Like in an Expanding Universe”

The Milky Way Over Ontario by Kerry-Ann Lecky Hepburn

The Milky Way Over Ontario by Kerry-Ann Lecky Hepburn

Sitting in the grass on a moonless, cloudless night I gaze at the arch of the Milky Way, letting the forms of beloved constellations reveal themselves in the wealth of the luminaries. I sink back into a happy sense of my own nothingness before the certainty of the stars. I do not experience terror at this vastness of space-time, but an aspect of immensity that is comforting – all those stars and all the invisible worlds beyond them are necessary for me to come into existence. I am this immensity gazing into itself, born from the fire of its stars and cooled down enough to be able to think, see, and admire. No matter how remote these distant ancestors are, in this moment I know that we would not be without each other. A sense of awe sweeps through me.
